High temp ceramic coating is a thin, extremely hard finish that protects metal parts operating at temperatures ordinary paint and powder coating cannot survive. Depending on the coating selected, some ceramic coatings withstand continuous temperatures up to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. HotKote 751 applies Cerakote and ZyBar high temperature ceramic coatings to exhaust systems, engine components, firearms, and industrial parts.

It depends on the specific coating. Some ceramic coatings are rated for continuous service temperatures up to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit without discoloring or breaking down. HotKote 751 selects the coating based on the operating temperature of your part, so tell us what the component sees in service and we will match it.

Powder coating is a thicker, decorative and corrosion-resistant finish suited to most structural, industrial, and consumer parts. Ceramic coating is a much thinner film built for extreme heat, hardness, and low friction. Choose powder coating for durability and appearance on parts at normal operating temperatures, and ceramic coating for exhaust, engine, firearm, and machinery parts that run hot or under friction. HotKote 751 does both in house, so we can recommend the right one for your part.

Surface preparation is what makes a ceramic coating last, and HotKote 751 handles it in house. We blast with fine sand, coal slag, or glass beads depending on the substrate and the finish required. Basic cleaning before drop-off is helpful but not required.
